Return to-
On the Wings of a Dragon
All are called, called into battle. It is time to make your journey to the battle field. Come alone or come with a party. Just come.
Roleplay here under border.
Ander growled, he did not want to go off to war again. "Why does the King fight so much, Klera? Last time I almost got you killed.." He said, his voice full of regret, grief and sorrow. Then Klera whispered to him in her soft and friendly voice.
Do not worry. We will both make it out fine. She looked sideways at him, her eyes shown with confidence and strength. She flapped her wings, and they were on their way.
Ander leaned forward, forcing a smile, and touched her neck."I'm glad you're so confident, Klera, i'm only human." He spoke aloud. She often encouraged Ander when there was even a hint of doubt about anything.
Korey uttered the spell her nursemaid had taught her, putting the guards infront of her room asleep. "Dormir." she whispered, and caught the first guard as he fell, then the second. She looked around, and did the same to any guard she came across, until she ran to the balcony, ready to jump off the edge. She didn't know what she would land on, but she was feeling dangerous. she took one last look, and jumped.
As they got further from their home day turned to night and they were now in the middle of the water country filled with beautiful lakes and surrounded by an ocean. As he enjoyed the view Klera screeched as she felt something fall onto her back. She halted. Ander not noticing the thump and the screech looked surprised there was a girl now on his dragon.
Korey was suprised to land on a moving object, and when she looked down, she saw scales. "A dragon." she breathed, crouching and holding onto on of the spines, abalancing herself.
Ander patted Klera, signaling her to keep going. Then he skillfully jumped up and stepped forward. Standing directly over he said,"Yes, and what are you doing on it?" an edge on his voice.
Korey tried to stand up, but lost her balance, adn sprawled on it's back, clinging for dear life while her hair flew out behindher. "I was only jumping off my balcony!" she whimpered.
He latched onto her hands and pulled her up. "Well that was a foolish thing to do." He let go of her hands and put one on her shoulder to steady her. "Klera, turn around will you. We need drop off a package..." He said and sat back down in his sadle. "Hold onto me, becareful not to fall any more." Klera turned around back towards the castle.
Korey gasped. "No!!! NO!" she cried, and ran to the edge of Klera's tail, balacing on it's tip. She saw a bady of water under it, a lake.
Lake Moi she thought. She lokoed at teh upcoming castle, and jumped off the edeg of Klera's tail, freefalling towards the lake.
Ander turned to say something and by the time he noticed she was gone Klera was already going after her.
Klera hurry, she'll die if she falls that far!
Korey released a spell under her breath that caused a giant fist to rise up and grip Ander and Klera, not letting them move as she dove into the lake, gracefully.
Ander saw the fish and heard Klera screech as the Fish bit down on her. He shouted a spell and large spikes of earth shot out of the lake bed and impaled the fish, releasing Klera. "The girl has a dragon...," He whispered to Klera as they flew closer to the waves. "This could help us."
Korey swam to teh shoore, fast as any fish, and jumped out onto the land. she, in fact, did not have a dragon, but fate would soon bring a dargon to her. She lokoed around, and, seeing a large cave with ice covering teh entrance, she ran to it.
He flew around the surface of the water with no sign of the girl."Well...w
e have to assume-" He stopped when he saw her climb out of the water onto the shore and jumped off Klera with a clang of his armor. "Come on Klera." Klera landed gracefully and followed Ander after the girl.
Korey ran up to teh cave, putting her hand against the ice. "Aqua tempa!" she shouted, bringing searing hot water from the lake and slamming it against the ice, shattering it.
He heard something that sounded like glass breaking and rushed towards her. He reached the cave and saw her cast a powerful spell. "Wait," He demanded."what are you running from?"
Korey whirled around, sending the spray at Ander, circling him and her in a searing hot dome, not allowing Klera to get in. "I'm checking out teh cave. Thats all."
"Oh, well, i'm coming with you.." He said. "You might fal loff of something.." He said sarcastically.
Korey shook her head. :"Nope. You're not ruining my fun. you stay here." she exited the dome, and left him inthe searing hot bubble as she entered teh cave.
He rolled his eyes and with a swipe of his hands a rock shot up through the bubble bursting it. "Fine. But I won't wait in there."
Korey set the bubbles again. "stay there!"
Ander sneered and waited for her to return.
Korey snuck in, looking around with wide eyes. She saw a giant crystal at the back of the cave, and rushed to it,. placing her hand on the surface. It wasn't a crystal. It was ice. She saw a thing in it, and used teh water from the bubble, bringing in Ander with it. She broke through the ice, and gasped at the giant form that lay on the floor.
Ander was shocked when the bubble closed on him and pulled him into the cave, he didn't want to scream so he just held his breath. Then the bubble spat him out on the floor and he lay on the hard earth of the cave. He looked around and saw the annoying little girl."You." He said grouchily.
Korey ignored him and walked slowly up to the figure. It was a dark blue dragon, adolescent sized, with webbing like wings that went all of the way to his tail. Korey reached up and touched it's suprisingly warm hide. It stirred, then reared up with a roar.
Ander was expecting everything but a roar and when he heard he scurried back. "A dragon! Wha-what is one doing frozen in ice?!"
At that moment Klera came running in with her own menacing roar. Ander! Are you alright, I heard a dragon! Then she saw the blue dragon and narrowed her eyes at it.
"I'm alright Klera...thanks.." He nodded to Klera and stood back up, still dripping wet."My armor is going to rust though.." He complained to her, then approached the blue dragon, his stern eyes staring right into the dragon's. "Calm down my friend....."
Bronte snapped at Ander dangerously, standing in front of Klera to protect her. He had been frozen for several centuries,a dn did not know that humans where riding dragons. "Nay. You stay away from this fair maid-dragon, slayer!" his voice boomed and echoed dangerously.
Korey ran up to him and started climbing up his foreleg, reachig his head. "It's alright, Dragon. I'm a friend!" She grinned and sat on his head.
Bronte growled in frustration, and attempted to try and get the annoying little girl off of his head. "Get off, you annoying pest!" He stopped suddenly and stared Klera in the eyes, realizing something. "I'm free!" He howled and held his head as loads of information from the ages past came uponhim suddenly, and he crashed to the floor.
Klera rushed over to the dragon and started to sniff him. He's not well... he is damaged internally.
Ander nodded in agreement as he felt the pulse of the dragon. "Yes, we need a white lighter to heal him." He said, not trying to hide the worry in his voie. He turned towards the girl. "Is he speaking to you?"
Korey nodded. "Yeah. Why?"
He looked at her in shock. "This dragon is...yours."
Korey gasped and looked at the dragon on the ground. She stroked it's jaw tenderly. "Impossible. He can't be." Korey tehn told of the fight several ages prior with out realising it. "He can't be MYdragon because he wasn't given to me..." She nodded.
"Only a dragons true companion can communicate telepathically." Ander explained. "Hey, i'm Ander. And my dragon's name is Klera."
Korey nodded absently and stroked her dragon's jaw more. "I'm Kajin, but call me Korey. My dragon's name is Bronte."
"I know one healing spell, it is not of my element so it will be weakend. It will also take alot out of me, but i'm willing to risk it. Would youlikeme to try?" A mark on his hand started to glow and he set in on the dragon's forehead.
Korey put her hand over Ander's. "Shouldn't I try to help? After all, it's MY dragon."
Bronte shivered and twitched.
"How could you know a healing spell? You're what, 13?" He question her lightly. "But if you must, repeat after me. Don't use too much energy, i'll use mine." He mutterd the elven word for healing which was Shol and a bright light encompassed his hand and hers. He winced as his energy drained immediately.
Korey bristled. "I'm 16, and I know an earth healing spell." she smacked away his hand and prepared to utter the three words, when she stared at him grasping her wrist. "What?"
"I know you want to do it on your own, but you can't. A dragon his size needsmore energy than you can handle. Let me help...please?" He tried to reason, but he didn't think she was going to let him knowing her this far.
Korey jsut shook her head. "Fine... whatever..." She got up adn walked out.
He sighed in in an irritated manner. "Don't leave him...ugh..he needs you now more than ever...I said you could help. Now quit wasting time throwing tantrums."
Korey rolled her eyes and stopped in her tracks, realization hitting her. This isn't a game... I really DO have a dragon... I really DID meet this guy, however mean he is... I AM ALONE.... Korey rushed over to Bronte, holding his head in her arms.
"Good. Now let's try again." He muttered the spell and placed his hand on Bronte's forehead.
Korey sang softly to Bronte, trying to keep him still.
Once the spell finished he collapsed onto his back."Man...using a spell that you aren't made for hurts..."
Korey stroked Bronte one more time before crawling over to Ander, wetting his face witha soft mist of rain she summoned up.
"I'll be fine. Thankyou..." He said pushing himself up with Klera's help. He dusted himself off and heard it was raining outside. "So, Korey, what's your story? Why are you here?"
"Well..." Korey leaned back agaisnt Bronte, who in turn merely curled in a circle around her. "My father is the Lord Balrod, of whose castle I was escaping. My nursemaid Genna Green told me about the forest and teh ocean, so I decided to up and leave after she did."
"Your father is the sameperson who was sending me off to war..I see why you left." He said alook of contempt on his face.
Korey nodded and closed her eyes. After a length of time, she finaly spoke. "So, what now?"
Ander looked out through the mouth of the cave and it was now pouring rain. "Well, I could help you train with your dragon. And maybe some hand-to-hand combat. You'll need to learn how to fight off shade and dragon hunters."
Korey shrugged. "If you really feel hand do hand combat is neccessary." She stood up and snapped her fingers, stopiing the rain. "Well then, let's go." She walked to the mouth of the cave. "Well, aren't you coming?" She reached for her bag at the entrance and pulled out a sheathed sword.
"Yea, yea i'm coming." He reached into the sadle on Klera and pulled out one of his swords. It was one his father gave him. He came out of the cave and stood infront of of Korey. "It helps to use magic in a fight as well, just as a tip."
Korey glanced at the lake and grinned. "Thanks for the tip." She laughed and swung her blade at his head, then flipping it down to his ankles at the last moment, using her lower position to reach behind her and grab a second sword from her things.
He rose his hands up and a wall of earth followed them as it blocked her blow. "Cheap shot." He backflipped away and in the process kicking the wall; it crumbled he sent the shards to her feet. Ander landed and unsheather his sword.
Korey used her sword to flip herself up and over the shards, summonign water around her legs in a fiery blue circle. She held her two swords in frotn of her in an 'X'm crouching as she watched him carefully.
"I see you fathers taught you well already." He examined her stance and winked at her. Suddenly the earth under her began to rumble and she rose on a platform that tipped over and put her on her back. He threw the platform of earth ionto the lake careful not to squish her with it. He tried to keep himself from laughing.
Korey rose from teh lake, drippign wet and angry. A white mist clouded her vision from everything except Ander. She grunted in excerion as she emptied nearly a quarter of the lake into the cave, yelling for Bronte to get out. She rode the wave in, almost as if she were surfing, and blocked teh cave entrance with ice, trapping them both with less than a foot of air to breathe.
Ander was swept into the cave by the wave and slammed into the back. He swam to the top and found Korey, breathing a deep breath and shaking the water from his hair."What was the point to that?!" He muttered a curse and out stretched his arms creating a hole in the roof of the cave and pulled himself out.
Korey placed the water back in the lake, breathing deeply and beckoned for Ander to comeback down, recreating that X with her blades.
He jumped back down through the hole landing on a knee and touching the ground with his hands. "I guess we're even." He said picking his sword up and rising.
Korey blinked wearily. "I suppose." She staggered and Bronte caught her with his tail.
He stepped towards her and shook his head. "We should stop. You're tired, it's been a long night." He looked to his right and saw a sun beam coming through the hole. "I'm going to go dry off be back in a few minutes.
Korey yawned and curled up in a semi-circle on Bronte's back.
He searched around the area for anice sunny place to lay his wet clothes so they would dry. He made sure it was pretty far from the cave. He found a spot with a creek running into the lake and a large willow leaning over the water. It was fairly sunny. "This will do."
Klera followed closly behind him. She curled up beside the willow with her tail dipped into the water.
Ander began to remove his clothes and set them down by the creek. "Now is a good time as ever to draw.."
Bronte shifted gently so his head was facing the direction of Klera's mind. "So, Mistress Klera, tell me about the customs of this age, if you wouldn't mind."
Korey put an arm under head, and drifted off to sleep.
Alina walked over in the cover of shadows, making sure that the people around werent a threat.
Mardon watched Alina, preferring to stay back until the last possible second.
Alina sat in the grass then, feeling she was being watched she pulled out her dagger looking around swiftly.
Mardon just flicked her dagger off to teh side. "It's jsut me, Alina."
Alina jumped up and huged her friend "Goodness ive missed you I havnt seen you since, oh gosh when was the last time I saw you?"
Mardon rolled his eyes and settled down next to his best friend. "We saw each other last night."
Alina smiled "i know i was just messing with you, goodness some people need a sence of humor." she said poking him.
Mardon just shot a look at her out of the corner of his blue eyes and pursed his lips, starting to sy something. He thought the better of it, and stopped.
Alina looked up "Mardon are you okay? whats wrong?"
Ander put his now dry clothes back and started back tot he cave and Klera followed him.
Mardon shushed her adn pointed to Ander and Klera.
Korey yawned and turned to her other side, eyes barely open as she slept.
Alina glared and asked in a whisper "Mardon do you want me to take them out?"
Mardon shook his head no.
Ander heard a voice and glanced around. Klera, see anyone?
Klera lifted her head and swiveled around. Yes. Over there... SHe ducked.
Ander grasped his sword and approached them.
Mardon saw them coming and stood up, unafraid.
Alina pulled Mardon back down and hissed "what are you trying to do? get us both killed?"
Mardon shook her off. "He already knows we're here."
He pulled his sword slightly out. "He's right. Now who are you? Friend?"
Klera canme out from hiding and approached them sniffing, then looked at Ander. I don't trust them...
Alina stood up and glared at Ander
Mardon jsut stared at Ander, looking him over, He moved slightly, adjusting his body so it was infront of Alina, not to protect her, but to protect the man in front of them.
Alina kept her glare fixed on ander and hissed at mardon "move or I'll move you."
Mardon silenced Alina with a jab backwards with magic.
Ander put his away. "I'm not here for trouble." He glanced at the girl and already felt her hard, hot loathing.
"Mardon do that again i dare you" Alina snarled then she turned to Ander and asked "then why are you here? want to make a pie?"
Mardon rolled his eyes and used a fire spell to place a spell over Alina's mouth, silencing her. "We're just here to collect her." he pointed at the sleeping Korey.
"Collect..her?" He asked nervously. Korey! "I'm sorry to have to go soon but I really must go." He said swiftly and touched Klera on her shoulder signaling her to bend. He hopped on and waved. Onward, Klera, we have to warn Korey. Klera nodded and replied. I do my quickest work onfoot. She galloped in the direction of the cave. She glanced down at her feet Or whatever you'd call these things..
Korey remianed asleep, blissfully unaware of anything around her.
Ander arrived at the cave, jumping off of klera and into the cave. "Korey, wake up! There are people looking for you. I think they may be from your father." He gathered their things and put them on their respected dragons. He shook Korey awake.
Korey woke up swearing. "Let's go!" she jumped on her dragon, who ran to the opening of the cave, jumping intothe sky.
Ander got on Klarey and they followed.
Korey spurred her dragon on fasterm and they streaked trough the sky, not knowing where they were going.
